I first shared this with Monica at Homestead Love!

DIY Wooden Arrow Wall Art thats eclectic, chic, and cheap

high style low budget design at lifewelive4.com

The one trend that I’m am in looovvve with is ARROWS !  It is such a simple and classic design element that is truly versatile with any decor!

My first arrow design went on top of this charming entry table. {one of my favorite pieces}

ARROW TABLE - eclectic entry, sofa table from www.lifewelive4.com

My next design was going into our dining room. We have a large blank wall to work with, and I wanted one big statement piece. I’ve been having decorating anxiety. Remodeling an entire house makes you think twice about hanging a bunch of crap on the walls. So visions of clean modern lines with a bold graphic design were happening, And the idea for our

DIY WOODEN ARROW ARTWORK was born !!

I sweetly asked my hubby {Markie Mark} to help with the build…a.k.a. building things non-ghetto. It was a simple large box design to make a wooden canvas. I used some sample white paint and Dark Walnut Stain to create our arrow pattern. {which MM helped re-design}

The “Wooden Canvas” was built from our scrap wood pile.

Materials Used to Build Wooden Canvas:

PureBond Plywood – 1/4″ thick  was approx 4 feet by 3 feet  -$0

1×2 boards to make frame and support corner pieces -$0

Finishing nails and gun-$0

Dark Walnut Stain {my fav}- $0

Ultra White sample paint -$2.50

Total Cost $ 2.50

By Recycling & Reusing wood/paint/stain we already had, this was a super cheap project that made a HUGE impact!

Dont have scrap wood, look on Craigslist for old fence posts! And a hammer and nails will work just fine too!

1. MM Built a simple box frame and placed corner support pieces as well.

2. Attach plywood to the front of box frame using the nail gun.{i love that thing}

NAILING

3. We taped off our Arrow Design.

TAPE ARROWS

For this Project I applied the Stain First, so that my white would stay white white. make sense?

After We  Stained and Painted, I distressed the entire piece lightly. Oh  how I am in love with this beauty.
